Being The Parent app is tailored to the needs of young mothers in urban areas, providing a supportive community and valuable resources throughout their pregnancy and parenting journey.

Problem Statement

😓 Many users didn't complete the registration process after installing the app, due to its long onboarding flow.

Research and Findings

To identify the best possible solution for increasing the install/registration ratio through onboarding process redesign, an in-depth research phase was conducted. This involved:

  • Competitor Analysis: Examining the onboarding processes of similar apps catering to young mothers, identifying successful strategies, and understanding user expectations.

  • Research articles: Studying academic and industry research articles related to user onboarding, conversion optimization, and user experience design. Two of them caught my eye.😉

Keep onboarding as simple as possible. For most mobile apps, this means putting users directly into the interface. With onboarding, focus on what users need to be successful in your app, highlight what’s new or unfamiliar, and keep instructional content brief and unobtrusive.
